Step 2

Once you've downloaded the app, drag the MetaTrader 4 icon over to the "Applications" folder to install the app.

If your Macbook is on macOS Big Sur and above (11+), you may run into the following error message on your first installation attempt: "MetaTrader is damaged and can't be opened". If so, try the following instructions, which worked for us:

  1. Open the Terminal, which comes installed with every Mac. If you're unsure where to look, enter "Terminal" in your Mac's search bar to find the app.
  2. Next, copy and paste the following command into the Terminal, and remember to add a space at the very end: sudo xattr -d com.apple.quarantine
  3. Before you press "Enter", drag the MetaTrader 4 icon from the Applications folder over to the Terminal. This will automatically append the path to your MT4 installation to the previous command.
  4. Finally, press "Enter" to run the command and fix your MT4 installation.
  5. Double click on the MetaTrader 4 icon to launch the programme.

Step 3

Finally, fund your trading account with FP Markets to trade on raw spreads from 0.0 pips across hundreds of instruments. You may also access leverage up to 1:500.
